Casting Instructors Workshop

March 23rd, 2008 by Bruce
Respond

All instructors for the Beginning Casting Workshop are reminded that they will need to attend a separate instructor’s workshop, starting on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, and running for two additional consecutive Wednesdays. The purpose of the workshop is to ensure that the instructions given to the students is uniform and consistent. In addition to the workshops, the instructors will need to attend the casting workshops, starting on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

If you are interested in pursuing the FFF Certified Casting Instructor, these workshops are a great way to get started down that path. Most of the leaders of this workshop are either already certified, are Master Casting Instructors, or are on the FFF Board of Governors.

Major Software Update

March 23rd, 2008 by Bruce
Respond

In addition to updating the look and feel of the web page, a significant software update was performed. All major modules of the site were updated, including Wordpress, punbb (message forums), and Gallery2 (picture gallery). Additionally, modules supporting these pieces of software were also updated. I have changed the default theme of the page to incorporate some picture to the page. Now that the gallery software is updated, I will start adding pictures to the album and adding them to the mainline posts.

I am still tweaking the finer points of the new theme, with changing the colors of the links the next little tweak to be made.

The next major event will be the server migration behind the scenes at the hosting company. The page will be moved from a the older Textdrive BSD server to the new Joyent OpenSolaris server, which should increase page performance. The timeline for this migration is T.B.D., but I will post prior to any major server outages, if any.
